Candidate filing for the 2026 election continued this week with new candidates for sheriff, county commissioner, state senate and U.S. House of Representatives.

Incumbent Republican sheriff Jason Wilborn filed to run for his second term last Tuesday and was joined in the race Thursday by Democratic challenger Dennis Allen.
